Kosher Jokes

Show Description:

The peace-making laugh-a-thon otherwise known as Kosher Jokes for the Halaladays has played for the last three years in Ottawa and Toronto and the last four in Montreal.

Producers Eman El-Husseini, Jess Salomon, and Jeff Shouela have made it their mission every Christmas to bring Jews and Muslims* together to celebrate what we have in common: feeling left out during the holidays, circumcision, not being as popular as our food. The good stuff, really. Each year they book an all-star cast of Jewish and Muslim comics, because although we don’t have Santa, or Middle East peace, we do have jokes … well, the Muslims are getting there, inshallah.

Part of the shows in Ottawa have gone to support the work of the CCIJ (Canadian Centre for International Justice) and in Toronto to LOVE (Leave Out Violence).

Kosher Jokes for the Halaladays has been featured in the Ottawa Citizen (2011, 2012), Toronto Star (2012), The National Post (2011) as well as on CBC (2011, 2012, 2013), XM Radio (2013) and News Talk 1010 (2012).

* Infidels also welcome.
